In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Psychologist Chris Wilson will provide an overview of “Trauma & the Brain: What Law Students and Lawyers Need to Know.” Attorneys, regardless of whether they practice criminal law, family law, employment law, tort law, or wills & estates, will encounter clients who either disclose a history of trauma or appear to have symptoms of a history of trauma. While understanding trauma and neurobiology can seem daunting, using a concept called “the brain in your fist,” Dr. Wilson will present a way of looking at our brains’ response to trauma that non-mental health professionals appreciate for its simplicity. {C}
