Mentoring Advocates

Mentoring an advocate last night who seemed to be struggling with the wiped out feeling after dealing with a dramatic situation. I assured her that is a “normal” set of circumstances, yet – it doesn’t have to be so. If one takes measures of wellness techniques dramatic situations will wear on you less and you won’t have so much trouble bouncing back.

I recommended that she read Trauma Stewardship by Laura Van Dermoot Lipsky — http://www.amazon.com/dp/157675944X/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=7745643029&hvpos=1o1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=246783636551739226&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&ref=pd_sl_a2jfa0n7g_b.

Have you read this book? What are your thoughts on it? What are your favorite section(s) of this book?

Do you have any other great recommendations?
